Abdul Rahman studied at the Cambridge High School - Abu Dhabi and graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from the Petroleum Institute in 2010. His graduation project was to design a prototype of an Effervescent Automization to prove the importance of Fluid Mechanics in gas turbines.
He holds a Masters Degree in Engineering Management (completed late 2013) and has completed his CIPS Diploma in 2016. He is currently working towards getting the MCIPS.

Abdul Rahman started off his career life in 2010 in ADCO sites/fields as a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) at Habshan and then moved to Al Dhabbiya field. In both fields, he was responsible for the mechanical works at the workshop inspecting various turbomachinery such as multistage centrifugal pumps and compressors, steam and gas generators, boilers and others.
Abdul Rahman was then transferred to the Technical Center holding the same position but the focus was mainly on risk assessments, condition monitoring, preventive maintenance, inspection and corrosion.

After almost 1.5 years in the technical side, he was transferred to the contracts department as a contracts Engineer under the Engineering & Major Projects. He spent 5 years in this area looking at major tenders (values above $ 2M) such Construction, EPC Contracts, PMC Contracts, FEED and consultancy services. During the 5 years, he was also Acting Senior Contracts Engineer and Acting Team Leader-Contracts.

In the Late 2016, Abdul Rahman was transferred to ADNOC HQ as a Procurement Planning & Performance senior specialist. In this area, the main focus was on setting Group procurement KPIs to measure the procurement performance across ADNOC group and developing ADNOC Group 5 years Procurement plan with the main target to drive procurement excellence and leveraging our purchasing power.

He also played a major role in conducted the 1st ADNOC Group Procurement Forum which gathered 100+ of ADNOC's procurement management and expertise. In this forum, the main theme was about what are the next steps towards procurement excellence.

He also was part of the team to conduct ADNOC's 2nd market engagement forum held during ADIPEC. In this forum, ADNOC welcomed over 700 suppliers and shared with them the latest procurement updates in ADNOC.

In late 2017, Abdul Rahman was selected to be a member in the CIPS committee-Abu Dhabi.
